Jessica is Co-Chair of the SMHTO Board of Directors, having joined the Board in 2021. She is deeply committed to advancing equitable access to mental health and addiction services and is passionate about expanding supportive housing and community-based programs. In her professional life, Jessica is a Partner in the Commercial Litigation Practice Group at WeirFoulds LLP, where she focuses on disputes involving asset tracing, civil frauds, conspiracies, shareholder rights, and breaches of fiduciary or employment duties. She also advises clients on regulatory and litigation risks, including those related to cybersecurity incidents, and brings prior experience in medical and healthcare matters. Before joining the SMHTO Board, Jessica dedicated more than a decade to volunteering with local food and shelter programs.

Dr. Leanne Tran (JD, MD) is Director of Legal at the Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care, one of the largest not-for-profit senior care organizations in Canada. She is also Principal at JD MD Solutions, offering services at the interface of law, medicine, science, and research. Dr. Tran has over 25 years of combined experience in the academic, health, and legal sectors. She has worked at global and health law firms and in-house at three Toronto hospitals. Dr. Tran is passionate about health care, improving patient outcomes and systems, and knowledge translation through legal avenues, education, and research. She speaks and writes extensively on medical and legal matters and has authored numerous papers and four LexisNexis medical-legal books. Dr. Tran has served as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Toronto (U of T) Faculty of Law and taught courses and workshops at several U of T affiliated teaching and research hospitals. She has conducted clinical research and quality improvement projects at two academic hospitals and at NASA and received grant funding for this work. Dr. Tran is a member of two Toronto hospital Research Ethics Boards, providing legal, privacy, and scientific expertise. She is also a Board Director of several non-profit healthcare organizations and on the Executive of various legal associations.

Adrian So serves as a Board Member and Treasurer for St. Michael's Homes, bringing deep expertise in strategic finance, technology integration and organizational transformation. As a CPA with extensive experience across industries including real estate, technology, public sector and professional services, Adrian combines analytical insight with a passion for building strong, values-driven organizations.
Currently the US Head of Finance and Global Controller at Blank Street, Adrian has led large-scale finance transformation programs and strategic initiatives at Google/Alphabet and Air Canada during his time at Deloitte and KPMG. His work focuses on leveraging technology to enhance operational excellence, foster collaboration and deliver long-term, sustainable value for organizations.
At St. Michael's Homes, Adrian is deeply committed to advancing the organization's mission of supporting individuals overcoming addiction, mental health challenges and homelessness. As Treasurer, he provides financial stewardship and strategic oversight to strengthen programs that promote recovery, dignity and community inclusion. Guided by compassion, accountability and the pursuit of continuous improvement, Adrian is proud to contribute his professional expertise to help St. Michael's Homes continue making a meaningful impact across Toronto.

Sukhman is an experienced leader specializing in Strategy and Human Capital Consulting. With extensive experience advancing people and organizational initiatives for global enterprises, Sukhman has partnered with executive leaders to shape workforce capabilities, develop future-focused AI talent strategies, and implement solutions that support innovation and growth. Sukhman has facilitated pivotal strategic planning processes, led transformative organizational change, and implemented innovative frameworks supporting sustainable growth in fast-moving technology contexts.
As a board member with St. Michael’s Homes, Sukhman sits on the Strategic Planning and HR Committees.
In his spare time, Sukhman is passionate about outdoor activities and travel, finding inspiration in nature and new experiences while making lasting memories with his wife and their young son.
Sukhman holds a Juris Doctor and MBA from the University of Wisconsin and a Bachelor of Commerce from York University.

Lisa Hodgins is Vice President, Corporate & Public Affairs at TD Bank Group, where she leads strategic communications and engagement initiatives that bring TD’s purpose and culture to life. She has extensive experience in corporate reputation, executive communications, and employee engagement, and is passionate about fostering inclusion and connection.
Lisa lives in Toronto’s east end with her husband and two sons and is actively engaged in her community.

Michael McCarthy, B.Sc., B.A., M.B.A., M.A., is an accomplished information technology executive and advisor who has held the position of CEO for six diverse vertical application businesses including, most recently, Fractal Dynamics, a risk advisory consultancy, where he is the founder and CEO.
As a trusted advisor, board member, educator and investor, he sits on the advisory boards of several early-stage companies. He holds a Chartered Director certification with the Conference Board of Canada and has been a member of several private company boards in his capacity as a venture capitalist and as an independent member.
Michael is also an Adjunct Professor and Executive Director of the Technology Leadership Focus of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto, and the Executive Advisor for the Fields Institute for Mathematical Research.

Scott Mahaffy is Vice President and Managing Counsel (Canada) at MFS Investment Management Canada Limited. Prior to joining MFS om 2004, Scott worked in the Securities Law Group at a leading national law firm.
Scott plays an active in the portfolio management industry, advocating on behalf of stakeholders through a variety of volunteer roles with the Portfolio Management Association of Canada, including tenures as Board Chair and as Chair of the Industry Regulation and Tax Committee. Scott also serves as Director of two privately held corporations.
Scott holds a B.A. (History & Political Science) from McGill University, and both a Master of Public Administration and LLB from Dalhousie University. Scott lives in Toronto with his wife and their two children.

Andrew is co-Founder of Red Jar with over 20 years of experience in the industrial manufacturing, merchant banking, and advanced energy sectors. Andrew has been a lifelong investor and entrepreneur, focusing on identifying key trends, opportunity sourcing, building teams, and leveraging his network.
Andrew was co-Founder & Vice Board Chair at Spark Power. He was co-CEO at Spark from its inception, leading the company’s initial efforts in renewables development and spearheading the company’s strategic direction to develop sustainability offerings. After helping build a strong management team, Andrew stepped back into the Vice Chair board role, with a focus on Corporate Sustainability. Prior to founding Spark, Andrew held several executive-level operations and finance roles.
A voice for environmental stewardship and Corporate Social Responsibility, Andrew is a passionate leader and advocate for advanced energy solutions who is frequently sought out by various private and not-for-profit boards, power panels, and CSR specialists to lend his perspective on the distributed grid, the rapidly changing power sector, and to inspire corporations to think about, consume, and generate electricity differently.

Robin brings a history of leadership in mental health, substance use, and homeless services, including extensive experience working to bring health service providers together to implement system solutions to significant health system access challenges. Among Robin's work, he led the creation and implementation of the Toronto Community Addiction Team in his time with St. Stephen's Community House, was the Director of the Mid East Toronto Health Link, led a primary care team serving homeless men, and played a leadership role in service development in communities facing severe challenges in north Scarborough. Robin has been with St. Michael's Homes since late 2015 and is proud of his team's development of new programming and quality improvement in that time. Additionally, Robin represents the community mental health and addiction sector on the leadership tables of the Mid West Toronto and East Toronto Health Partners Ontario Health Teams and in his time at St. Michael's Homes has led an organization that has grown from a budget of $1.7m to the current $8.6m, increasing service sites from four to eight, with particular expansion in the areas of psychotherapy, out patient substance use supports, and services for unhoused people with substance use and mental health challenges.
