Our Place Community

Together at our place community of hope
The Our Place Community of Hope drop-in was founded over 50 years ago and ever since has strived to be a safe space for adults and seniors impacted by mental health challenges, along with those who are experiencing homelessness, substance use, and or social isolation. At Our Place, we hope that folks engage with one another and develop a sense of belonging within the community while accessing additional supports with the help of our drop-in service workers.
We are open Monday through Friday and have various programing including:
Wellness Groups
Art therapy, peer support,
guided journalling
Social Recreation Groups
Bingo, karaoke, gaming
tournaments
Meal Services
A free coffee and meal program that runs between 5-6pm, Monday to Friday.
How We Support Our Community
We provide ongoing support to help community members access housing, social assistance programs, and medical care, as well as connect with new case workers when needed.
We also assist with resume building and job applications, tailoring our support to each individual’s goals. As many of our community members are aging and may not always be able to attend in person, we conduct weekly check-in phone calls to ensure they continue to feel supported and connected to the Our Place community.
Throughout the year, we host a range of initiatives and activities, including clothing drives, hygiene kit distributions, holiday meals and gift giveaways, barbecues, and outings.
